Greetings! I am Irish Joy C. Cortez, a current Grade 12 student at Philippine Christian University. In this blog, I will be featuring my life living with my pets and how PAWSITIVELY they have brought me. Hope you enjoy! :)

In my 17 years of excistence, I have lived my whole life living with animals and pets by my side. This thing influences me by my Mom who also has a big adoration with animals, especially with dogs. This such adoration influences me to adore and cherish animals in the way they all deserve. 

These two pictures from above are actually the dogs I have been while growing up. The first one was Dona who sticks to us for 14 years and the other one was Lupin who also sticks to us for almost 16 years. These two had been my sisters and brothers while growing up. They have been my guardian whenever my Mom and Dad are leaving me alone at home for a work. Suddenly, Dona died because of not being able to deliver her puppies properly, while our Lupin died because of having several disease.

Year 2012 when we first had our breed dog named Ellerie, which was given to us by a relative. Ellerie is actually an American Cacker Spaniel and is currently living with us for almost 7 years. Ellerie brought us so many happiness in the family and she always reminds me of her unique tongue who has a big mole inside. A couple of years after we got her, she also started to give birth with her three puppies named, Superdog, Georgina and Kean. 

The fourth of all is our dog, Georgina or also called as 'Negi.' Goergie has been sticking to us for almost 6 years and has been the fifth member of our family. She has been my baby and my sister at the same time. We even used to sleep together in a bed everyday and my alarm clock every morning with her kisses. Living with her for almost 6 years is something that I am really happy for, because of the good things and memories she had brought into our family. 

Just in the current year, I had my another baby named Margarette or also known for Maggie. Maggie was a gift to me on my 16th birthday and is given by my sister. She is a half Pomeranian and Japanese Spitz and is currently 11 months old. Maggie was actually the naughtiest yet the sweetest of all. She always reminds me of her unique face which has a shade only on the corner of her eyes. For almost a year of living with her, I could say that Maggie had already brought us a lot of memorable moments together, especially when we are having a jog together in mornings.

At the end of the day, having these such pets as part of our family is still the greatest feeling of all. They just proved to me that they're truly a Man's best friend.  

One thing I remember being asked by a friend, on what are the things I wanted to accomplish before I died. Honestly, it really took me minutes to think of something I really wanted to accomplish in life. But above all of my dreams for me and my family, one of these is also to help animals. In such ways, I want to be part of their journey of someone who could help them and offer them the life they deserve in this world. Animals are also like humans, they get hurt as well, with that we don't have a right to punish or even hurt them.

After all, pets and animals still has a big part in me and I would always be proud to have this thing, for it teaches me love those who may not be able to speak, but yet able to offer you their unconditional and faithful love.
